Apply for a new licence

Apply for a renewal licence

Please note: HMO licenses cannot be transferred and therefore any change of ownership must mean a new license application is made. Any existing license will expire if:

  • The named licensee is no longer affiliated with the building
  • The company that owns the property changes its name

Please also note that renewal applications are required for all HMO's to continue running after expiry date. Renewal applications should be submitted no later than 4 weeks prior to the expiry of an HMO license.

What happens next?

A member of our Private Housing team will review the application and advise you of the next steps.
