Apply for consent for tree works

If you wish to carry out works to trees, you must seek permission from us before the works start. Apart from some exceptions, all works to a tree subject to a Tree Preservation Order (TPO) and most works to trees in a conservation area will need consent.

You can use the same form to apply for works to TPOs and trees in a conservation area.

Your application must:

  • state the reason for making the application
  • describe the trees to which the application relates
  • specify as precisely as possible the tree work that is proposed
  • provide adequate information to support your case

The quickest and easiest way to make your application for works to trees is to apply online using the Planning Portal.

Alternatively, download the documents below and return to us.
