Closed: Survey on a new opportunity for private landlords

Lewes District and Eastbourne Borough Councils were seeking the input of private landlords to help us shape our new Landlord Leasing scheme.

Closed: Lewes District and Eastbourne Open Space Study Consultation

We undertook an assessment of the amount of open space across the area, how easily it is accessed and set out broad recommendations for the future. This survey closed on Monday 3 November 2025.

Closed: Consultation on Animal Welfare Licensing Policy

From Monday 1 September to Monday 20 October 2025, Lewes District and Eastbourne Borough Councils consulted over a draft Animal Welfare Licensing Policy. The consultation has now closed and a summary report will be available from this page soon.

Consultation on boundary of Lewes district from April 2028 onwards

Closed: From Friday 25 July to Monday 25 August, residents were asked to have their say on Brighton & Hove City Council's proposal to expand the city boundaries into Kingston ward, East Saltdean, Telscombe, Peacehaven and Newhaven.

Closed: Improving recycling in Lewes district

From February 2026, Lewes District Council is moving to fortnightly refuse (black sack waste) collections, to increase household recycling in the district. From Friday 11 July to Monday 8 September 2025 we ran a feedback survey to engage local people over what positive or negative impacts moving to alternate weekly collections might have on households.

Closed: Renewal of Eastbourne's Anti-Social Driving Public Spaces Protection Order

Closed: From Friday 4 July to Friday 1 August 2025, Eastbourne Borough Council consulted on a proposal to extend the current Anti-Social Driving Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) for another three years. The consultation report is now available to download. Following consultation, the order will be extended for a further three years, to 2028.
