Closed: Survey on a new opportunity for private landlords

Lewes District and Eastbourne Borough Councils were seeking the input of private landlords to help us shape our new Landlord Leasing scheme.

Latest update: This survey closed on Monday 24 November 2025. We are now reviewing responses and will use these to design the leasing scheme. We will contact landlords with details of the scheme soon.

This will offer private landlords the opportunity to lease their properties to the councils over several years and enjoy secure income, professional management and peace of mind, all while helping us meet local housing need.

We asked to hear from local landlords with properties in East Sussex and beyond to invite views on the their properties and priorities as a private landlord, and what they would want from a leasing scheme.
