Ratton warm-up for Riverdance at Bandstand
Eastbourne Bandstand will take on a fresh new energy this summer as Eastbourne Borough Council hosts 12 dedicated dates for community groups, performers and cultural organisations, adding a vibrant new strand to the venue's well known programme of tribute acts and live shows.

The new community‑focused programme celebrates local culture, emerging performers and grassroots creativity. The council has curated a diverse line‑up that showcases the breadth of Eastbourne's artistic and community life.
Alongside Ratton's Riverdance performance, the community dates will feature, Reggae Gospel, Rock Choir, Printers Playhousewith A Midsummer Night's Dream, a soap‑opera‑style performance created by local writers and actors, Dance Through the Decades, Opera at Sunset - an acoustic performance set against the evening skyline and Chubstock, part of the Eastbourne Music Collective.
Councillor Jenny Williams, Cabinet Member for Tourism & Place, said:
"Eastbourne Bandstand is a much‑loved landmark, and this new community programme gives residents and visitors the chance to experience it in a completely different way. From dance and theatre to grassroots music and cultural celebrations, these events showcase the creativity and spirit of our town.
"I was delighted to join Rinceoirí Ratton for their rehearsal and see for myself the energy, talent and local pride they bring to their performance."
Each organisation has been able to apply for funding to help cover their costs of putting on the performance - the council is also providing free use of the Bandstand, on‑site support and promotion.
