Eastbourne TIC move to Towner is 'a great step forward'

This relocation from the nearby Welcome Building will take effect from April 1.

Councillor Jenny Williams, Cabinet Member for Tourism and Place, said: "This is a great step forward for Eastbourne's visitor offer. By moving the Tourist Information Centre to Towner, we are bringing together expert guidance, cultural excellence and a warm Eastbourne welcome under one roof.

"The new location will strengthen how we jointly promote the town's arts, heritage and attractions, creating a more connected and compelling experience for the people who visit our wonderful town. I'm delighted to see this service evolve in a way that is useful to how people explore and enjoy Eastbourne today."

At its new Towner Eastbourne location, the TIC will continue to be the central hub for visitors providing advice on local amenities, travel, attractions, accommodation and much more.

Meanwhile, theatre tickets will remain available from the Theatres Box Office at the Welcome Building.

Councillor Jenny Williams added: "Positioning the TIC near the seafront has worked well over the past year and aligns with what visitors told us they wanted. Relocating the service to Towner builds on that success and ensures visitors continue to receive top-quality advice and information in discovering the delights of Eastbourne."

Niamh Peace, interim co-director at Towner Eastbourne, said: "We very much look forward to taking on this important civic role, extending a warm Towner welcome to visitors to Eastbourne from near and far, helping them to get the most from their visit and encouraging engagement with all that Eastbourne and the surrounding area has to offer."
