2026 / 2027 Council Tax bill update for residents in Lewes town
A message for all households in the Lewes Town Council area.
As we highlighted on Saturday (March 14), there is an error in your 2026/27 Council Tax bill. This error equates to about £8 a month extra (on the Lewes Town Council precept) for a Band D property.
Our officers will adjust and reissue Council Tax bills to the households affected and ensure no one pays more than they are required to.
It is most important that you do not cancel your direct debits.
We will continue to issue updated information on the council website and council social media channels as we work through this process.
We apologise for the confusion and inconvenience this has caused residents; we are working hard to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.
