Christmas shoppers offered free parking in Lewes car parks this December
To support local businesses, Lewes District Council is offering free parking in its Lewes car parks on Saturdays in December in the run-up to Christmas.
The following car parks in Lewes will be free on Saturdays the 7th, 14th and 21st of December 2024.
- Brook Street
- Cliffe High Street
- East Street
- Little East Street
- The Maltings
- Market Lane
- Mountfield Road
- Phoenix Causeway
- Pinwell Road
- South Street (North)
- Spring Gardens
- The Needlemakers (West Street)
- Westgate Street
Friars Walk will be free on Saturday 14 December (the other two Saturdays being Farmers Market days).
Cllr Wendy Maples, Cabinet Member for Neighbourhood Services, said: "We are delighted to be providing free parking in Lewes on these key Christmas shopping dates.
We hope this encourages residents and visitors to do their Christmas shopping at some of the many wonderful local businesses in the town. Choosing local, independent businesses for your Christmas shopping is not only great for the economic health of the town, it can have a much lower environmental impact."
