Most recently, new play equipment has been installed at Valley Dip in Seaford and across the two playground areas at Malling Recreation Ground in Lewes. Refurbishments are also starting at Stanley Turner Recreation Ground in Lewes and Hillcrest Court in Newhaven.

By the end of the summer, 19 playgrounds across Lewes District will have benefitted from £400,000 investment in just over two years.

Councillor Wendy Maples, Cabinet Member for Neighbourhood Wellbeing at Lewes District Council, said: "It is an absolute joy to see our young people having more outdoor fun as a result of our significant investment in local play areas.

"Outdoor play is crucial for young people's wellbeing and development, and I am delighted we are helping to create healthier, happier communities. And we've added picnic benches at many of the sites, making it easier for families to picnic and play."

The new play equipment is designed to appeal to children with different interests and needs and across a range of age groups.
