Youngsters welcome new playground equipment
Children are enjoying new swings, slides, sand pits and creative climbing frames, benefitting from the Council's playground improvement programme.
By the end of the summer, 19 playgrounds across Lewes District will have benefitted from £400,000 investment in just over two years.
Councillor Wendy Maples, Cabinet Member for Neighbourhood Wellbeing at Lewes District Council, said: "It is an absolute joy to see our young people having more outdoor fun as a result of our significant investment in local play areas.
"Outdoor play is crucial for young people's wellbeing and development, and I am delighted we are helping to create healthier, happier communities. And we've added picnic benches at many of the sites, making it easier for families to picnic and play."
The new play equipment is designed to appeal to children with different interests and needs and across a range of age groups.
