Update on works at 187 High Street, Lewes

We will be carrying out structural works to 187 High Street and 2 Fisher Street, Lewes over the summer and autumn 2024.

The works include shop front repairs, roof repairs and replacement guttering and other rainwater goods.

From Monday 12 August to Sunday 3 November 2024, a pavement closure will be in place immediately outside 187 High Street and 2 Fisher Street. Temporary traffic lights and pavement diversions will be in place during this time.

Hoardings and scaffolding will be put up outside the building from Tuesday 13 August 2024.

Fisher Street is due to be closed to traffic during the autumn 2024 half term holiday (28th October - 3rd November) to further facilitate the works. A traffic diversion will be in place - details are to be confirmed. This element of the work is being timed to minimise disruption to term-time traffic.

The works are due to be completed in autumn 2024.

In May 2024, Lewes Tourist Information Centre moved to 6 High Street, Lewes which the team has been sharing with Lewes District Council and Lewes Citizen's Advice to provide a one-stop, easily accessible location for information and advice for residents and visitors.

Any further updates will be published on this page in the coming months.
