We are upgrading our revenues and benefits system
We began migration to an improved revenues and benefits system in October 2023
Our revenues and benefits services are still available during the switchover to the new system, but we may need to ask you to do things differently during this time.
Housing Benefits
- Ongoing claims - payments will continue as usual.
- New claims - submit a claim using the form on this page: How to claim Housing Benefit or Council Tax reduction
- Discretionary Housing Payments - apply here: Discretionary housing payments
- Change in circumstances - report any changes in your circumstances via our Contact us form
Council Tax and Business Rates:
- Our new Citizen Access self-service portal for Council Tax is now available for some of our services. Find out more about Citizen Access and how to register for the service through My Account
- Continue to pay Council Tax as usual: Pay Council Tax. If you wish to set up a Direct Debit, you can sign up to our website My Account, then register for Citizen Access
- If moving into or within the area - visit our Change of address page and follow the guidance on how to tell us of your move through Citizen Access.
- If moving out of the area - visit our Change of address page and follow the guidance on how to tell us of your move through Citizen Access. We will send you a closing bill when we receive your online form.
- New requests for discounts and exemptions - make these requests using the form on this page: Council Tax discounts. We will send you a closing bill when our new system is ready.
- Requests for refunds - make these requests via our Contact us form. We will process these when our new system is ready.
- Business Rates - the self-service portal for Business Rates is coming soon
