Lewes District Local Plan consultation

We will begin our next stage of consultation over the Lewes District Local Plan on Monday 6 January 2025.

Latest update - 18 December 2024: All online and in-person consultation events are now listed below.

We would encourage all residents to take part in this consultation once it begins.

Local plans set out where future development will take place, such as new homes and locations for business growth, as well the local policy requirements against which future planning applications will be judged.

The consultation will run until 5pm on Friday 28 February 2025.

Phase one of the consultation is on the detailed policies for the plan area and will consider sites within towns and a limited number of villages. The second phase will take place later in 2025 and have a greater emphasis on more rural parts of the district, while also re-evaluating areas considered during phase one.

Local Plan consultation set for New Year launch

Short survey on the Lewes District Local Plan

Before the consultation begins, we are running a short survey to ask local people about their understanding of what a Local Plan is.

The 5-question survey take just a few minutes to complete and we will use what you tell us to help shape our future communications about the Local Plan.

At the end of the survey, we give a description of what a Local Plan is and give an opportunity to join our consultation mailing list.

We will hold consultation drop-in events at locations across the district in January and February 2025.

Please note, residents from any part of the district are welcome to attend any of the sessions.
