Equality and Fairness Analysis
We carry out Equality and Fairness Analyses when we develop new services, projects and policies or make changes to existing services and policies.
An Equality and Fairness Analysis helps us ensure any changes are fair and respond to the specific needs of people who share the protected characteristics covered in the Equality Act 2010.
We also consider socio-economic factors, since issues faced by people can differ widely according to their income level, learning needs or where they live. Through equality analysis, we can identify opportunities to eliminate unlawful discrimination, advance equality of opportunity and foster good relations between different groups within our community.
Equality and Fairness Analyses are checked by internal and external equality and fairness steering groups and are available from Cabinet Report authors and service heads.
