Retirement Housing Officer

Salary: £25, 576 - £30,550 pro rata

Hours: 28.5 hours per week

Location: Eastbourne Borough and Lewes District Councils

Contract: 9 month Fixed Term

Place of Work: You will be based at retirement housing schemes in Eastbourne area and will be required to cover other schemes in the Eastbourne Borough and Lewes District areas. You will be required to attend meetings and work events at council offices.

Neighbourhood Housing are looking for a Retirement Housing Advisor to join our friendly and supportive team.  The post holder will manage all aspects of housing management in retirement housing and be expected to work flexibly across all the Lewes District and Eastbourne Borough areas.

This is an exciting role where no two days are the same and you will need to enjoy working with people and be keen to play a key role in improving the lives and independence of our tenants. This role requires the candidate to be multi skilled, managing a range of tenancy related tasks, you should have experience in managing tenancies within the social housing sector or similar transferable skills. You will require good resilience and great time management skills. You will be working with vulnerable customers and undertaking a variety of duties including raising safeguarding concerns and working with our partner agencies, monitoring, and recording health and safety in relation to our retirement housing schemes and writing personal tenancy sustainment plans including risk assessment. You should possess the ability to work well within a team and equally to work alone for long periods, a willingness to learn is essential. You must be IT literate and can work on multiple systems such as MS office and housing management CRM systems.

Job Overview

  • These roles are trained to be multi skilled managing a range of tenancy relate cases in our busy retirement housing schemes across Eastbourne and Lewes.
  • Manage complex cases dealing with vulnerable customers, including safeguarding, anti-social behaviour, and joint partner working.
  • Monitoring and recording health and safety in relation to our retirement housing buildings.       
  • To undertake personal tenancy sustainment plans which will include a tenant risk assessment.

You must have a full driving license and have your own vehicle to use for work.
