Garden waste renewals now open

You can now renew your garden waste service for collections starting 1 April 2025

Ash

Reduce

Switch to other forms of heating for example, electric, ground source heat pumps.

Compost garden waste instead of burning it.

Reuse

Mix wood ash with a small amount of water to create an mild abrasive paste to clean tarnished metals, clean dirty glass, and even remove adhesives and sticky residue.

Use wood ash in the garden by digging into boarders and beds but use sparingly as too much could change the soil PH.

Use wood on icy or slippery paths to provide some grip and traction. It is an inexpensive, eco-friendly alternative to salt or chemical ice melters. Just be sure to use it safely and sparingly for best results.

Recycle - in your household recycling bin

No
