Allotments
There are numerous allotment plots across the Lewes district and borough of Eastbourne. Each authority manages the sites within their areas.
Allotments in Eastbourne
Allotments are available to rent in Eastbourne now. Get in touch with the Eastbourne Allotments and Gardens Society below for more information. The society has their own constitution and manage most of the day to day workings of the sites including the tenancy agreements.

Allotments in Lewes district
We operate a limited number of allotments within the district. These are in addition to those operated by the other town and parish councils (see below).
We operate allotments at:
- School Field, Barcombe
- Broyle Close, Ringmer
- Green Close, Ringmer
- Ditchling
- Kingston
Allotment sizes vary but a full size allotment is normally 253 square metres. The majority of allotments are either normally 253 or 126.5 square metres in size.
The allotments are rented for one year commencing on 1 April and the current annual rent is £0.245 pence per square metre, per year.
As all our sites are small in size they are generally all in use. The long waiting lists for all the sites are currently under review, so unfortunately are closed for the time being.
Town and Parish allotments
The allotments in Lewes, Seaford and Peacehaven are managed by their respective town councils. These are in addition to the allotments operated by Lewes District Council elsewhere in the district.
Other parish and town councils may also provide allotment plots in their areas. Please enquire further with them for details.
