Volunteering in your local nature reserve

Join our Community Ranger and others to help to make a difference in your Local Nature Reserve by getting your hands dirty for a good cause.

Practical conservation volunteering allows anyone to get involved in helping with practical nature conservation tasks.

Our Community Ranger works with members of the Lewes Railway Land Meadow Minders and the Castle Hill Conservation Group on practical conservation tasks in Lewes and Newhaven.

They carry out a variety of work including general habitat, woodland and chalk grassland management, footpath maintenance, step building, surveying plants, ponds and animals and scrub clearance.
