Welfare benefits project
East Sussex County Council, in partnership with Eastbourne, Hailsham and Seaford CCG, have commissioned and funded the Welfare Benefits Project. The project provides Welfare Benefits advice to residents of Eastbourne, including advice on Universal Credit, all DWP benefits, housing benefit and council tax reduction.

Discretionary East Sussex Support Scheme (DESSS)
East Sussex County Council operates a Discretionary East Sussex Support Scheme, which may provide emergency help in certain situations. The scheme does not provide cash or loans but may provide assistance for food and utilities. You can quickly and easily apply for DESSS online.

What if I can't afford my council tax?
If you are having problems paying your council tax it is important you contact us straight away so we can see what we can do to help. If you delay in contacting us you may incur additional charges that you will have to pay.
