Employee development
All employees receive regular training for their personal development and to increase the skills available to their service area and the council as a whole.
We offer a range of formal training and development opportunities to all staff. This includes E-Learning, formal training courses, seminars and conferences. Members of staff have studied professional qualifications such as Management Diplomas and degrees. Departments run job-specific courses and all staff are regularly asked about their training needs.
All new employees undergo a full induction programme followed by a rolling programme of training. Any work-related training is provided by us, but we also provide loans for staff to undertake other courses or training not related to work.
