There are a number of community groups operating in Eastbourne which carry out valuable community work on a voluntary basis.

Friends of Manor Gardens and Gildredge Park

The main aim of Friends of Manor Gardens and Gildredge Park is to improve the garden and park for the enjoyment of all who visit. The group is always happy to welcome new Friends and potential volunteers. They also give updates via a regualr Bulletin, which is available on the news page of their website.

The Friends of Motcombe Gardens is a community group which focuses on maintaining and developing Motcombe Gardens in Old Town.

The group's activities include carrying out gardening and regular litter picks.

Friends of Ocklynge Cemetery

The Friends of Ocklynge Cemetery was established in 2022 by a small group of local people who love the cemetery and its history.

The Friends have held meetings with the Cemetery Manager to discuss relevant issues. Membership is updated by meetings at the Lamb Inn and via the Friends Facebook page.

Motcombe Pool Friends

The Friends of Motcombe Pool work closely with the Motcombe Community Pool Community Interest Company, which carries out fundraising activity with the aim of reopening the pool.

By joining the Friends of Motcombe Pool Facebook group you can get regular news updates, discuss ideas and find out about volunteering opportunities.
