Garden waste

There are various ways you can turn your garden waste into a useful soil conditioner. You can:

  • compost at home using purpose made bins or build your own
  • take it to an East Sussex County Council run Household Waste and Recycling Site where it is taken for composting
  • or you can subscribe to our garden waste collection service.

Real Christmas Trees can be returned to some suppliers, taken to an East Sussex County Council run Household Waste and Recycling Site, dropped off at a Council run festive period 'drop off' point, or we will take it if you subscribe to our garden waste collection service.

Reduce

It's not easy to reduce the amount of waste your garden will produce but there are lots of ways you can safely dispose or reuse it.

Reuse

Garden waste makes great compost. East Sussex County Council has information on different types of compost bins that you can source from garden centres - A Guide to Home Composting

Or you could subscribe to our Garden Waste Collection Service.
