Plastic bottles

These are usually made of polyethylene HPDE and can be easily recycled

The types of plastics used to make bottles are easily identifiable meaning they can be easily sorted into their plastic types for recycling. Most plastic bottles will be made of either polyethylene terephthalate (PETE) with a recycling symbol with the number 1 or high density polyethylene (HDPE) with a recycling symbol with the number 2 with some being made of polypropylene (PP) with a recycling symbol and the number 5. Most lids on all plastic bottles are made of the same types of plastic as the bottle and so are spray or pump mechanisms in cleaning and soap product bottles. All of these can be placed in your household recycling bin.
