Neighbourhood First Caseworker
Salary: 25,576 to £26,827 depending on qualifications and experience
Hours: 37 hours per week

Base: This is a flexible role which can be undertaken remotely at a variety of locations in Lewes District and Eastbourne with the ability to undertake some work from home.
Join our Neighbourhood First team and be part of an innovative and exciting service focusing on customers, to deliver a wide range of services across Lewes District Council and Eastbourne Borough Council areas.
In your role as a caseworker, you will play a key part in the service supporting the work of the team including:
- Undertake Minutes for meetings.
- Assess appeals from recipients of penalty charge notices received from Eastbourne Borough's Off-street parking facilities.
- Allocate funds to the finance team received from Eastbourne Borough's Off-street parking facilities.
- Investigate environmental crime and help build case files for legal teams, and issue education and/or enforcement based of the intelligence received.
- Issue fixed penalty notices and community protection warnings for anti-social behaviour and instances of environmental crime.
- Catalogue and store evidence securely.
- Organise, log and report statistics on fixed penalties issued and paid to management, councillors and working partners (where appropriate).
- Deliver professional letters to constituents that maintain correct information and reference appropriate legislation while utilising a professional and corporate language.
- Interacting with customers across multiple channels: face to face; phone; letter; email via customer portal and self-service channels and a range of social media channels.
- Assist management with achieving complaint satisfaction and ensure complaints are completed within the set timeframes.
- Attend and minute take for the Joint Action Group meetings of both Eastbourne and Lewes councils
- Order new street name plates for Eastbourne Borough Council.
- Undertaking invoicing, raising purchase orders and utility bill payments
- Issue work and processes to advisors, working with advisors to complete cases within corporate timeframes.
- Manage timesheets, rotas, and room bookings.
- Respond to customer reports and requests.
- Referring to other systems when necessary to resolve requests.
- Reviewing and moderating reports and requests, proactively managing and resolving them where possible or referring them to the relevant team or contractor using scripts and processes when required.
- Sending information sheets, guidelines, and website links to customers.
- Identifying and escalating complex cases and inconsistencies as appropriate.
