Homes First delivers a unified housing service for Lewes District and Eastbourne Borough Councils, managing a combined housing stock of approximately 6,700 homes. The Neighbourhood Housing team manage tenancies and work with residents across the Lewes District and Eastbourne Borough areas and we are looking for a housing officer to join our established team.
As well as experience in managing tenancies within the social housing sector or with transferable skills, you will have enthusiasm, effective communication skills, the ability to work well within a team and a willingness to learn.
Job Overview
The Neighbourhood Housing team covers generic housing management, tenancy resolution and tenancy sustainment across the Lewes District and Eastbourne Borough areas. As a housing officer within the team, you could be asked to work within any of these areas of the housing service.
The work is varied and will include a wide range of tenancy management services such as mutual exchanges, successions, lettings and terminations. The role also includes tenancy sustainment, enforcement and estate management.
Officers will assist vulnerable customers and manage complex cases, raising safeguarding concerns and working with partner agencies to support tenants.
As a housing officer you would act as first point of contact for the tenants on all matters relating to their tenancy, helping us to provide a sensitive, pro-active and comprehensive service to tenants across our management remit.
