Newhaven Town Investment Plan
Newhaven sought £24.7m of Towns Fund investment with proposals formally presented as the Newhaven Town Investment Plan. This strategic document, which can be viewed below, was submitted for assessment by the Ministry of Housing Communities and Local Government in January 2021.
In July 2021, Government announced a Town Deal offer for Newhaven of £19.3m. The Council is currently reviewing the offer and the Town Deal Board will make the final decision on which projects we remove from our Plan to meet the revised Government offer.
A Heads of Terms Agreement will then be made between the Government and LDC. The Council and the Town Deal Board will then have up to a year to develop fully costed business cases for each of the agreed projects and submit them to government in line with the Head of Terms Agreement.
