Latest Update: Home Upgrade Grant - Phase 2

The Councils have secured Government Funding to help you use less energy in your home.

If your home is not powered by gas, is difficult or expensive to heat, and you think you are on a low income then you could be entitled to receive this funding.

Disabled Facilities Grants

Disabled Facilities Grants (DFG) assist disabled people to adapt their homes, enabling them to live as independently as possible. Possible adaptations include level access bathrooms and stair lifts.

Your application will be handled by us, but you will need to be referred by Adult Social Care before making an application. Adult Social Care will carry out an assessment to ensure that an adaptation is the most suitable option.

Home improvement loans

If you are a home owner and need assistance to undertake essential repairs and improvements to your home, then you maybe able to apply for a subsidised loan through our partner, Parity Trust. Please visit Parity Trust - affordable secured loans and mortgages to find out more.

Energy efficiency

The council does not currently offer any grants for energy efficiency measures. However, you can find a range of other offers on the gov.uk website.

Heating and Repair Grant

If you are on means tested benefits, or are disabled with savings of less than £10,000 then you maybe eligible for a grant to assist toward essential repairs in your home that are affecting your health and safety.

How to apply

To apply for this grant you should download, complete and return the application form below, along with two quotes for the works. We will contact you once we received your application. An officer may need to visit to check eligibility. Do not instruct your contractor until you have confirmation that the grant application has been successful.

Apply for a grant or loan in Eastbourne

Small Works Grant

If you are over 60 or disabled with less than £10,000 in savings then you may be entitled to a grant of up to £500 to help towards repairs around the home.

Emergency Heating and Hot Water Grant

If you are over 60 or disabled with less than £10,000 in savings then you may be entitled to a grant of up to £1000 to help toward the repair or replacement of a heating or hot water system.
