Household waste collection service

In Eastbourne we collect your refuse from your property boundary every fortnight from 7am.  Across Lewes district we collect your refuse from your property boundary every week from 6am.

After we have emptied your bin, please store it somewhere that doesn't obstruct the path outside your home.

How to dispose of other types of waste

We cannot accept any type of Hazardous Waste in your household rubbish. If you have a lot of rubbish, you can take the extra to your local https://www.eastsussex.gov.uk/rubbish-recycling/household-waste-recycling-sites. We offer separate collections for these types of waste:

Household waste collection service - Lewes District Council

We will collect your refuse from 6am on the same morning each week, with occasional changes due to public holidays.

Your duty of care

Householders have a legal duty to dispose of their waste in a responsible manner. Failure to do so may result in a fixed penalty notice being served or a prosecution under Section 46 (Receptacles for Household Waste) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.

Household waste collection service - Eastbourne Borough Council

Households in Eastbourne are provided with a wheelie bin for their refuse. Extra refuse will not be collected but you can take it to your local household waste recycling site.
